The EU Council's Law Enforcement Working Party (Customs) is scheduled to meet on 14 July 2026 at 10:00 in the Council's LEX Building in Brussels, according to a notice of meeting and provisional agenda published on 9 July 2026. The meeting will adopt its agenda and hear presentations and exchanges of views on customs cooperation, financial crime, drugs, and nitrous oxide.
The meeting will open with adoption of the agenda and information by the Presidency. The Irish Presidency will present its priorities, followed by a report on activities in the first half of 2026 presented by the Cyprus delegation. Cyprus will also present the report of the former trio presidency (Poland, Denmark, Cyprus) on implementation of the Strategy for customs cooperation.
Key substantive items include a state-of-play presentation on the EU Customs Alliance for Border (EUCAB) by its head, followed by an exchange of views. The European Commission will present the state of play of the Anti-Fraud Architecture (AFA) for preventing and combatting financial crime. The European Drugs Agency (EUDA) will present the European Drug Report 2026, with an exchange of views. A thematic discussion on customs and market surveillance of nitrous oxide will feature presentations by the Presidency, EUDA, Europol, and the chair of the Horizontal Drugs Group.
Participation in points 6-9 includes Europol, Frontex, and the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO); points 8 and 9 also include EUDA. Delegates must register via the Delegates Portal. The meeting is expected to set priorities for customs law enforcement cooperation in the second half of 2026.
