The European Union on 14 July 2026 welcomed the alignment of nine countries with the latest EU restrictive measures against Russia, adopted on 15 June 2026. The measures target 9 individuals and 45 entities involved in actions undermining Ukraine's territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence, particularly those linked to Russia's military-industrial complex and shadow fleet.

Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway and Ukraine have aligned their national policies with Council Decision (CFSP) 2026/1364, the EU's 15 June sanctions package. The EU noted the commitment and welcomed it.

The alignment underscores continued international coordination on sanctions pressure against Russia, with candidate countries and European Economic Area members joining EU restrictive measures. The 15 June package expanded the EU's sanctions list to include additional persons and entities facilitating Russia's war efforts, including through sanctions evasion and maritime transport of Russian oil.
