The Council of the European Union has published the Commission's 2026 Convergence Report, dated 26 June 2026, assessing Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Sweden on their readiness to adopt the euro. The report concludes that none of the assessed Member States meets all necessary conditions for euro adoption, citing significant headwinds from the Middle East conflict and ongoing fiscal challenges in several countries.
