A court has closed the case against Rima Hassan, finding no trace of synthetic drugs in items seized during the illegal custody she endured on Thursday, 2 April. Scientific analyses show no evidence of synthetic drugs in the seized materials. The judicial decision confirms that the serious accusations disseminated by illegal and false media leaks across nearly all French media were unfounded. These leaks also prompted defamatory comments from political opponents, including The Republicans, the President of the Association of Mayors of France, David Lisnard, RN deputies, and Caroline Fourest. La France insoumise has already filed a complaint with ARCOM over the defamatory media coverage, demanding rectifications, apologies, and sanctions for those responsible. It also called for administrative investigations to identify and sanction those behind the manipulation, welcomed the opening of a judicial investigation into violations of investigative secrecy and the referral to the General Inspectorate of Justice, and requested an IGPN inquiry to identify and punish those who leaked information. The Canard enchaîné’s disclosure of exchanges between the justice ministry spokesperson and journalists on the day of Hassan’s illegal custody has been described as requiring full truth and accountability from the Justice Minister. The affair is framed as evidence of a political cabal and judicial dirty tricks against Hassan and La France insoumise, and the government is urged to take necessary measures to end these methods and promptly restore the essential rules of a state governed by the rule of law.
