The Council of the European Union, by a corrigendum published on 8 July 2026, corrected an obvious error in the Finnish language version of Regulation (EC) No 715/2007 on type approval of motor vehicles with respect to emissions (Euro 5 and Euro 6) and access to repair and maintenance information. The correction addresses a grammatical mistake in Article 4(2), second subparagraph, third sentence of the Finnish text, changing the phrasing from 'kattaa' to 'on katettava' to properly convey the mandatory nature of the durability testing requirement for pollution control devices over 160,000 km. No other language versions are affected, and the substance of the regulation remains unchanged.
The corrigendum follows the procedure for correcting obvious errors in a single language version (Procedure 2(b)). Member States have eight days to submit observations to the Council's Legal Service. The European Parliament has also been informed of the correction. This is a purely linguistic fix with no impact on regulatory obligations or stakeholder compliance.
