The Council of the European Union has issued a corrigendum to the Slovenian language version of Council Framework Decision 2008/913/JHA of 28 November 2008 on combating racism and xenophobia by means of criminal law, correcting an error in Article 1(2). The correction, published on 29 June 2026 as Council document 14461/25, amends the Slovenian text to align it with the correct legal wording. The original Slovenian text contained an erroneous phrase that has been replaced with the proper formulation. Member States have eight days to submit observations to the Directorate Quality of Legislation of the Legal Service. The corrigendum does not affect the substance of the Framework Decision, which requires Member States to criminalise certain forms of racism and xenophobia, but ensures the Slovenian version accurately reflects the agreed legal text.
This is a technical correction with no impact on stakeholders beyond ensuring linguistic consistency across EU languages.
