A corrigendum to Regulation (EU) 2024/1787, published by the Council of the European Union on 3 July 2026, corrects an error in the Danish language version of the regulation on reducing methane emissions in the energy sector. The correction replaces the word "beslaglæggelse" (seizure) with "konfiskation" (confiscation) in Article 33(2)(b), which concerns penalties for infringements. The corrected text now reads: "order confiscation of the profit obtained or the loss avoided as a result of the infringements, if this can be calculated." The corrigendum applies only to the Danish version and was transmitted to the European Parliament. Member States have eight days from publication to submit observations to the Council's Directorate for Quality of Legislation. The correction ensures linguistic consistency with other language versions of the regulation, which was adopted on 13 June 2024 as part of the EU's Methane Strategy to curb emissions from the energy sector.
