"The PFAS restriction dossier was submitted by Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and Sweden and published on 22 March 2023 as Annex XV. On 10 March 2026, SEAC reached its draft opinion, published for consultation on 26 March 2026. The dossier is entering a new phase: SEAC confirms the logic of a broad European restriction, but cautions that an absolute, undifferentiated ban is not socio-economically proportional in all cases. Originally, textiles were covered in the restrictive proposal under TULAC ( textiles, upholstery, leather, apparel and carpets); after public consultation, the submitters further adjusted the proposal.
