The Council of the European Union has published a corrigendum rectifying a technical error in the Italian language version of Council Regulation (EU) 2025/2614, which amends the EU's system of autonomous tariff quotas for certain agricultural and industrial products. The correction, issued on 1 December 2026, changes the document's title and introductory phrase from "Decision" to "Regulation" in the Italian text, aligning it with the correct legal instrument type.

The corrigendum applies to Regulation (EU) 2025/2614, which itself amends the foundational Regulation (EU) 2021/2283 on autonomous tariff quotas. The error was limited to the Italian version and does not affect the substance of the regulation or its application in other EU languages. Autonomous tariff quotas allow limited quantities of certain goods to be imported at reduced or zero duty rates, supporting EU industries that rely on raw materials or components not sufficiently available within the Union.

Technical correction, no policy impact This is a purely linguistic and procedural correction with no impact on trade flows, customs procedures, or stakeholders. The amendment does not alter the scope, tariff rates, or product coverage of the quota system. EU importers, customs authorities, and producers of agricultural and industrial goods are unaffected by the change.

The corrigendum was adopted by the Council without debate and requires no further action from the European Parliament or the European Commission. It enters into force upon publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
