The European Union-funded Fiji Agri-Innovate Competition 2026 culminated on 16 June 2026 in Suva, with ten finalists pitching innovative agribusiness ventures and the top three winners each receiving FJD 5,000 in seed funding. The competition is part of the Sustainable Transformation of Domestic Agrifood Systems (STODAS) project, a FJD 25.6 million (EUR 10 million) initiative funded by the EU and implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Fiji, Samoa, and Solomon Islands.

Ambassador of the European Union to the Pacific, H.E. Ms. Barbara Plinkert, opened the event, reaffirming the EU's commitment to sustainable agrifood systems and inclusive growth through the Global Gateway strategy. The competition, organized by Business Assistance Fiji (BAF), included a ten-day virtual bootcamp to strengthen business knowledge and investment readiness. Finalists included Delainaulucavu Organic Enterprise, Farm to Table Enterprise, Kula Palms (Fiji) Pte Limited, and seven others. The 2026 edition marks the third consecutive round since Fiji's first Agribusiness Incubation Center was established, a milestone in transforming the agricultural sector into a modern, knowledge-based ecosystem.

FAO Assistant Representative to Fiji, Ms. Joann Young, highlighted the dynamism of Fiji's agribusiness sector and the role of MSMEs in sustaining livelihoods amid global shocks. BAF General Manager Nitika Singh emphasized the goal of moving MSMEs beyond subsistence toward climate-resilient businesses. The STODAS project aims to strengthen domestic food production, improve nutrition, and build resilience in support of the Sustainable Development Goals.
