The EU Council's Working Party on Atomic Questions is scheduled to meet on 15 July 2026 at 10:00 in the Justus Lipsius Building, Brussels, for a morning-only session. The meeting, announced in a notice of meeting and provisional agenda, will cover the EU's atomic agenda for the second half of 2026, including work programme presentations by the Presidency and the European Commission (Directorates-General for Energy and Joint Research Centre), an update on nuclear safety in Ukraine, and the presentation of the European Space Agency's Annual Report for 2025.

The meeting, which has no prior coverage in the last 180 days, will begin with the Presidency presenting its work programme for July to December 2026, followed by the Commission's work programme for the same period. The Commission will then provide an update on the nuclear safety situation in Ukraine, a topic of ongoing concern since the Russian invasion. Under Any Other Business, the JRC will present feedback on the visit of the Research Atomic Working Party to JRC Karlsruhe, and the Commission will introduce the IAEA General Conference.

The Working Party on Atomic Questions is a preparatory body of the Council that deals with nuclear energy matters, including Euratom issues. The meeting is open to member state representatives and relevant EU institutions. No exclusions or specific decisions are stated in the agenda, indicating a routine information-sharing and coordination session.
