High Representative/Vice-President Kaja Kallas will travel to Türkiye on 29-30 June, accompanied by Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos and Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner, the European External Action Service announced on 28 June 2026. The visit comes in the run-up to the NATO Summit in Ankara on 7-8 July and will include a meeting with Türkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
This will be Kallas's second official visit to Türkiye. The trip aims to review EU-Türkiye relations, discuss common challenges in an increasingly volatile geopolitical environment, and explore additional avenues for cooperation. Türkiye is both a candidate country for EU membership and a NATO Ally. Audiovisual coverage of the High Representative's engagements will be provided on EBS and X.
