The Delegation of the European Union to Argentina has opened registration for the first National Model European Union Argentina 2026, a three-day academic simulation of the Council of the European Union to be held on 28-30 October 2026 in Buenos Aires. The top three performing students will receive a study trip to Brussels in 2027. The initiative, announced in a press release dated 29 July 2026 by the Delegation's press and information team, is part of the EU's Public Diplomacy Programme in Argentina.
The Model will focus on the theme "Security Action for Europe (SAFE 2025): joint defence procurement, military cooperation and the EU's strategic autonomy." University students from across Argentina are invited to apply, with 27 participants selected to represent the 27 EU member states. The simulation will be conducted entirely in Spanish. To ensure federal participation, the EU Public Diplomacy Programme will cover travel, accommodation, meals and official transfers for selected participants. Applications are open from 29 July to 28 August 2026. The Delegation encourages students of international relations, political science, law, economics and regional integration to apply, aiming to strengthen knowledge of the EU and foster a new generation committed to dialogue and consensus-building.
