- “But article 34 and 35, but there are a number of actions that we have taken together with the civil society, which are very relevant. And I would just mention all the work that the digital services coordinators of the national authorities are doing to ensure compliance with the DSA in the run up to electoral processes. There are a round table that have been organised in many countries with the participation of platforms and civil society, and they have brought important results. The code of conduct on this information, and also potential new code of conduct that may arise from the DSA. These are the key example of voluntary cooperation that has a specific place in DSA enforcement system and also more generally, and I think some intervention touched upon this, the obligations imposed by the DSA to provide access to researchers. So the data access obligations, which are in article four of DSA, on which we are about to adopt an important delegated act, which we really believe will make a difference, to increase access basically to the way platforms work, Scrutiny and eventual accountability. Thanks to the work of civil society and researchers. So again, my sincere thanks to all those who intervened and to this committee for inviting us to participate in this discussion. Thank you. Chair.”

- “Thanks a lot, chair. Honourable members and the stakeholders who enriched the discussion today. So first of all, I'm really thankful for this discussion and also for having invited the Commission to the regular meetings that this committee is is taking forward on on democracy, which is obviously a topic which is high in the Commission agenda. My short intervention will focus on the Digital Services Act. Since this panel is specifically about digital rule book, and I would like to quickly highlight one aspect which in my opinion is very relevant. In particular, when we talk about Digital Services Act and addressing risks related to the integrity of the information space and democracy. And the aspect is the multi-stakeholder cooperation that DSA can bring about combining together enforcement. And as you probably know, the Commission is enforcing vigorously the DSA. We have opened more than ten cases against very large online platforms. Some of them are specifically addressing the matters that we are discussing today. So this is obviously our duty and our responsibility as regulators. But there is an important element actually, which I think is all the more important when we talk about integrity of the information space, which is the multi-stakeholder cooperation. And I wanted to stress this today because the meeting and this hearing is specifically, you know, enriched by the stakeholders and the civil society intervention that we have heard. The cornerstone of the DSA from this perspective, are the provisions on the mitigation of systemic risks.”
