EU and national cultural identities

Score 0–20 Statement openly promotes EU identity. OR, statement uses emotional language or criticism to enhance the sense of urgency or threat to sway views in favor of EU identity.
Score 21–40 Proposal subtly, discretely, or indirectly favours EU identity and does not use emotional language.
Score 41–60 Statements that are roughly neutral, whose bias towards either EU or National identity is roughly insignificant.
Score 61-80 Proposal subtly, discretely or indirectly favours the National identity and does not use emotional language.
Score 81-100 Statement openly promotes National identity. OR, proposal uses emotional language or criticism to enhance the sense of urgency or threat to sway views in favour of National identity.

How positions are measured

One poleThe EU must prioritize building a shared European cultural identity, mandating the integration of EU-focused curricula in schools, promoting EU-wide symbols and holidays, and funding programs that replace national traditions with a unified European narrative.
Other poleMember states must fully preserve and promote their unique national cultures, rejecting any EU interference that seeks to dilute local traditions, impose foreign symbols, or prioritize a pan-European identity over sovereign heritage.
