Climate efforts

Score 0-20: Demands maximally ambitious EU climate targets/commitments or full, accelerated implementation of the Green Deal / Climate Law / Fit for 55 (e.g. higher 2040/2050 targets, upper-end NDCs, 1.5 C alignment). May use urgency framing.
Score 21-40: Affirms/supports the EU's climate targets, commitments or flagship programme without maximal demands (e.g. reaffirm Paris/NDCs, 'implement the Green Deal', continue mitigation effort per the Climate Law).
Score 41-60: Genuinely balances ambition and competitiveness with no position tipping either way (rare; e.g. whole-resolution compromise votes).
Score 61-80: Favours slowing, reviewing or softening the EU's overall climate ambition/programme for competitiveness (e.g. 'review/revise the Green Deal', evaluate economic impact, downscale ambition, deplore climate-urgency framing).
Score 81-100: Demands rollback or abolition of the EU's climate targets/programme (e.g. suspend/repeal the Green Deal, withdraw the Climate Law / Fit for 55, reject the 2040 target or the EU's overall decarbonisation/climate-neutrality objective).

How positions are measured

One poleWe must set and pursue the most ambitious overall EU climate targets and commitments (e.g. higher 2030/2040/2050 reduction goals and NDCs aligned with the 1.5 C / Paris objective) and fully and rapidly implement the EU's flagship climate programme (European Green Deal, European Climate Law, Fit for 55), treating climate ambition as an overriding priority even at significant economic cost.
Other poleWe must abandon, roll back or block the EU's overall climate targets and flagship climate programme (Green Deal, Climate Law, Fit for 55), prioritising economic growth and industrial competitiveness over the EU's climate ambition.
