On 9 July 2026, the Council of the European Union issued a corrigendum correcting the Czech language version of the Agreement in respect of Gibraltar between the EU, Euratom, and the United Kingdom. The correction replaces the Czech text previously published in document ST 6829/26 of 26 June 2026, fixing obvious errors in that language version.
The corrigendum, published as document ST 11666/26 under interinstitutional file 2026/0058(NLE), follows procedure 2(b) for correcting obvious errors in a single language version. The Council has set a one-day deadline for member state observations, which must be sent to the Directorate for Quality of Legislation in the Legal Service.
The underlying agreement, which governs the future relationship between Gibraltar and the EU after Brexit, was originally adopted by the Council and remains unchanged in substance. The corrigendum does not alter the agreement's provisions or its legal effect; it only ensures the Czech text accurately reflects the agreed terms.
Member states have until 10 July 2026 to submit any comments on the correction.
