ACEA's 2026 edition surveys fiscal support for electric cars across the 27 EU member states plus Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. It finds that all EU countries provide some form of tax benefit to promote electric vehicles, though schemes differ widely and are fragmented. Tax incentives for electric company cars remain a major asset for electrifying fleets, with 18 member states offering them. New or renewed purchase incentive schemes are being proposed or renewed, while six member states do not offer any (down from eight last year). About 14 member states also provide incentives for charging infrastructure. ACEA cautions data may have changed since publication and disclaims responsibility for any inaccuracies.
