Executive Vice-President Roxana Mînzatu has defended the European Commission's review of EU-OSHA's governance arrangements, stating that the Agency's Management Board in June 2026 decided to maintain its current meeting format, including twice-yearly meetings in June and December. The answer, given on 24 July 2026 to a parliamentary question by Konstantinos Arvanitis (The Left), clarifies that the Commission is not pushing for changes that would weaken tripartite dialogue, but rather responding to a recommendation from the Agency's 2024 evaluation to examine potential optimisations.
Arvanitis had asked whether the Commission's reported push to revise the hybrid meeting model—unanimously decided by the Board in January 2024—would limit participation and undermine tripartite governance. Mînzatu explained that the evaluation, required every five years under Regulation (EU) 2019/126, acknowledged the advantages of tripartism but invited EU-OSHA to consider governance improvements. At its June 2026 meeting, the Board examined options and concluded that current arrangements are efficient and effective, agreeing to continue meeting twice a year.
