The Council of the European Union has issued a corrigendum correcting an obvious error in the Hungarian language version of Council Regulation (EU) 2025/2605, which amends Regulation (EU) 2021/2278 suspending Common Customs Tariff duties on certain agricultural and industrial products. The correction, published on 1 July 2026, fixes a textual mistake in the product description for entry 0.6809 in the annex table.

The corrigendum changes the Hungarian description for brushless permanent magnet DC motors suitable for installation in vehicles or equipment under HS headings 8432 and 8433. The corrected text reads: 'Járművekbe vagy a 8432 és a 8433 vtsz. alá tartozó berendezésekbe történő beszerelésre alkalmas, kefe nélküli állandó gerjesztésű egyenáramú motor:'. The original version had misordered the phrase referring to vehicles and equipment.

This is a technical correction following Procedure 2(b) for obvious errors in one language version, with an 8-day time limit for Member State observations. The corrigendum ensures legal accuracy and consistency of the Hungarian version of the regulation, preventing misinterpretation or incorrect application of tariff suspensions for the specified product. It maintains uniform application of EU customs law across all language versions and may affect customs classification and duty treatment for the affected motors.

No prior coverage of this regulation exists in recent months, as the original Regulation (EU) 2025/2605 was adopted on 12 December 2025 without prior public debate.
