The Council of the European Union, by a corrigendum published on 8 July 2026, corrects a language error in the French version of Regulation (EU, Euratom) No 1023/2013, which amended the Staff Regulations of Officials of the European Union. The correction replaces the reference "article premier bis" with "article premier ter" in the pension contribution provision on page 31, Article 1, point 52, last paragraph, last sentence.
The error, identified as an obvious mistake in one language version under Procedure 2(b) per Council document R/2521/75, affects the French text only. The corrigendum has been transmitted to the European Parliament, and Member States have eight days to submit observations to the Directorate Quality of Legislation of the Council's Legal Service.
Regulation (EU, Euratom) No 1023/2013, adopted on 22 October 2013 and published in the Official Journal on 29 October 2013, introduced significant changes to the Staff Regulations, including adjustments to pension contributions and the career structure of EU officials. The correction ensures that the French version accurately reflects the intended reference to Article 1 ter, which defines the institutions and bodies covered by the Staff Regulations.
This technical corrigendum has no impact on the substance of the regulation or on the rights and obligations of EU staff. It solely harmonizes the French language version with the other official language versions of the act.
