The European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in partnership with the Post-Conflict Research Centre, has launched a call for applications for the fourth State of Peace Youth Academy, a fully funded two-week programme running from 31 July to 13 August 2026. The academy targets young people aged 18 to 30 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia, offering workshops, site visits, and cultural events across six Bosnian cities to build skills in peacebuilding, transitional justice, and regional cooperation.

The programme, announced on 17 July 2026 by the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, covers travel, accommodation, meals, and materials at no cost to participants. Over 14 days, attendees will visit cultural, memorial, and religious sites, take part in workshops on activism, human rights, and interreligious dialogue, attend film screenings and theatre performances, and meet with government officials, academics, EU representatives, and local organisations. The academy aims to deepen understanding of transitional justice and lay groundwork for stronger mutual understanding and regional cooperation.

Applications must be submitted by 22 July 2026 at 23:59 CET via a form sent to events.pcrc@gmail.com. Eligible applicants are citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, or Montenegro, aged 18 to 30, who can commit to the full programme including travel across Bosnia and Herzegovina. The initiative is organised by the EU Delegation and the Post-Conflict Research Centre, with no prior coverage of this specific call in the last 180 days.
