The Delegation of the European Union to the Pacific, in collaboration with EU Member States, will hold the fifth edition of the European Film Festival in Fiji from 16 to 25 July 2026, with free screenings at Damodar Cinemas in Suva, Pacific Harbour, Lautoka, and Labasa. Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Nereo Penalver-Garcia said the festival aims to immerse audiences in European cultures and languages through cinema, offering a glimpse into how people elsewhere live, laugh, and dream. The programme features a curated selection of films from eight EU Member States: Belgium, Czechia, Estonia, France, Germany, Latvia, Slovakia, and Spain, including live-action comedies, animated adventures, and coming-of-age tales suitable for families. The festival is part of the EU's global public diplomacy initiative, celebrated annually across continents. All screenings are free and open to the public, with the full schedule available on the Delegation's website and Facebook page.
