Jordan's Minister of Investment, Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, met EU Ambassadors on 7 July 2026 to advance preparations for the Jordan–EU Investment Conference, scheduled for 19 November at the Dead Sea. The conference aims to translate the long-standing partnership into concrete investment projects and business partnerships, bringing together senior policymakers, investors and development finance institutions.
Abu Ghazaleh highlighted Jordan's recent regulatory reforms, streamlined investment procedures and digital transformation, alongside a pipeline of strategic projects to be presented to European investors. EU Ambassadors reaffirmed Jordan's standing as a trusted strategic partner, citing its stable business environment, strategic location and extensive trade links as key advantages for companies seeking access to regional and international markets. They pledged to continue encouraging strong European private-sector participation in the conference.
The event is expected to deepen economic ties between Jordan and the EU, potentially boosting foreign direct investment into Jordan's infrastructure, technology and manufacturing sectors. For European investors, the conference offers access to a gateway market with preferential trade agreements. However, the success of the conference will depend on translating political commitments into bankable projects and overcoming regional security concerns that may deter some investors.
