On 23 July 2026, the Council of the European Union published a corrigendum to Regulation (EU) 2021/696, which established the Union Space Programme and the European Union Agency for the Space Programme. The corrigendum corrects errors in the Spanish language version of the regulation, ensuring legal accuracy and consistency across all official EU languages. The original regulation, adopted on 28 April 2021, set the legal framework for EU space activities, including Galileo, Copernicus, and other flagship programmes, with a budget of €14.88 billion for 2021–2027. The corrigendum does not alter the substance of the regulation but rectifies linguistic or typographical mistakes in the Spanish text, which may affect interpretation by Spanish-speaking stakeholders.
This technical correction has no impact on the programme's implementation or funding. The corrigendum enters into force on the day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
