EU Ambassador to Mongolia Ina Marciulionyte met with Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Aldarjavkhlan Jukov on 16 June to discuss deepening cooperation in culture and tourism, the EU Delegation to Mongolia announced on 17 June. The talks covered the modernisation of the Mongolian State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, developing Mongolia's winter tourism potential by drawing on Scandinavian models, and engaging local communities and province governors in cultural and tourism initiatives. Ambassador Marciulionyte, a former Deputy Minister of Culture of Lithuania and member of the UNESCO Executive Board, brought extensive experience in cultural policy and heritage safeguarding to the discussions. The European Union reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Mongolia's cultural sector and fostering people-to-people ties between Europe and Mongolia.
