Refinity, BASF Coatings’ cloud-based digital platform, hosts the Eco Impact Assessment tool, which uses a life-cycle measurement approach to evaluate all relevant material and energy flows within a body shop, including spraying, drying, product consumption, waste management and fleet operations. The tool provides an ecological, economic and social performance view based on real-life operational data and on-site measurements, with expert support from BASF Coatings consultants. TÜV Rheinland has independently certified the tool, validating its alignment with the Greenhouse Gas protocol and international standards.
Since 2025, the Eco Impact Assessment has been validated in 11 European countries, and BASF Coatings plans to expand access beyond Europe, enabling body shops to demonstrate environmental performance to customers, insurers and OEMs and to support sustainability-related decisions. BASF Coatings is a global automotive coatings partner with around 108,000 employees and €60 billion in sales in 2025, operating in multiple regions worldwide and continuing to drive sustainability alongside economic performance.
