The EU Permanent Representatives Committee (Coreper) is scheduled to meet on 8 July 2026 at 10:00 in Brussels to prepare the upcoming Agriculture and Fisheries Council and adopt a series of non-discussion items covering agriculture, fisheries, transport, research, and digital partnerships, according to a provisional agenda published by the Council on 6 July 2026.

The main discussion item is the preparation for the Agriculture and Fisheries Council on 13 July 2026, which will include the Presidency's work programme and a Commission presentation on the Livestock Strategy and Protein Plan, followed by an exchange of views. Coreper will also analyse the final compromise text on the Regulation on the production and marketing of plant reproductive material, with a view to reaching agreement.

Among the 16 non-discussion items to be adopted are replies to written questions from MEPs, including on the suspension of EU military cooperation with Rwanda and the inclusion of a German journalist on the EU sanctions list. Other items include the approval of minutes from AGRIFISH meetings on 30 March and 27 April 2026, the appointment of one member to the ECHA Management Board, and the approval of third-party attendance at the Cultural Affairs Committee (14 July 2026) and the Working Party on International Environment Issues (15 July 2026).

Coreper will also adopt Council Decisions on several international agreements: the EU position within the Joint Veterinary Committee under the EU-Switzerland agreement; termination of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement with Liberia; One Health in agrifood systems; signing and conclusion of the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement with Seychelles (2026-2030); the EU-Japan agreement on Japan's participation in Union programmes; air passenger rights regulation; empowering Austria to amend its bilateral road transport agreement with Switzerland; and authorisation to negotiate a non-binding instrument with the Republic of Korea on the Digital Partnership Council.

The meeting will be chaired by the Presidency and will prepare the formal adoption of these items by the Council at a later date.
