German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will receive Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, the chair of the African Union Commission, at the Chancellery on Tuesday, 14 April. The African Union is Germany's central strategic partner in Africa, and close cooperation is particularly important amid current geopolitical developments. The AU Commission chair will be in Berlin for the Sudan Conference on 15 April, where he is co-host.
