- 2026-06-16 “Thank you very much. Next. President, we are talking about the EU's digital sovereignty. However, we have been colonised by the big tech companies. We are seeing our resources dwindling due to war and higher energy prices, and we're just regulating more to compensate. We're talking about ethical issues. We want to be knights in shining armor here, but these big companies don't use the same rules as us. Anthropic, for example, has put a new measure in place. That means our data are convincing. Our conversations can be passed on to governments without our consent. This goes against the GDPR. Big brother is watching us and we cannot guarantee the private lives of our citizens. Sovereignty has to start by making Big tech respect us.”

- “In this chamber, conservative politicians are labelled as Nazis without any consequences, while the crimes of the far left are excused. This is where Liara Salis sought refuge and has been protected ever since. A person who, armed with hammers and vipers, attacked and beat innocent Passerbys from behind. It took a tragedy for us to finally say there are MEPs on the left who hold extreme views and to relativize murder by equating anti-fascism with democracy. Of course, what can we expect from a movement that was launched by Stalin and continues to incite hatred against those who have different views? We demand that Antifa be declared a terrorist organization, and that an investigation be launched into whether the EU has provided any support to far left organizations. And enough of stigmas when respect for life and tradition are and protection of normality are called Nazism. That's hate speech.”

- “Thank you very much for giving me the floor. I'd like to thank the rapporteur for this report. It's an extremely important issue, and I was very happy to see that. There are many points in the report which I agree with, which I also believe are crucial. Some, such as the focus on commercialization and trying to reduce that. Now, I would like to draw your attention to one point. I think that we should also look at removing ideology and politics from sport. And this is why, as a Hungarian MEP, it is particularly important for me. Hungarian students have been excluded from the Erasmus programme. Now, it would be very, very sad if Hungarian students were excluded from that just because there is a political battle going on between the European Commission and the Hungarian government. No, we need to separate sport from that. Sport is absolutely crucial, not just for societal cohesion, European cohesion as well, because there are international competitions, global competitions as well. So the idea that we would exclude any nation or any social group from those opportunities. In my view, is would be absolutely tragic for any kind of unity that you would like to see. Thank you.”
Rule of law in Hungary
- “Thank you. Chairman. I'd like to start By saying that unfortunately, corruption takes place in every every member state, including Hungary. Unfortunately, and in the Escin group and in my party in Hungary, we firmly condemn that. And we have zero tolerance for all kinds of crimes involving corruption. However, it's a fact that, according to Olaf reports. In every case that have been mentioned in those reports, every case there has been there have been accusations, charges made, and also in many cases, prosecutions. The EPPO is not an acceptable solution. As somebody who calls for sovereignty, this cannot be something I can support. Furthermore. It could lead to abuses, for example, in in detecting crimes. Currently, for example, money has been frozen. Eu funds have been frozen and is not being sent to Hungary. In your presentation, you. What you mentioned really makes me think that member state sovereignty is not being guaranteed. So I'd like to ask how acceptable do you think it is for. For it to be a prerequisite to join the EPPO in order to access EU funds, just how acceptable would you think that as a proposal is? Thank you.”

- “Dear colleagues, after three years of brutal killings, it is not more support we need to give to Ukraine. But we need compromise and peace. You only talk about Russia's war crimes and fail to mention the inhumane acts of the other party. Of course, Russia's aggression is no excuse for the war crimes committed by Ukraine. It would be a dangerous message to use a double standard. And for the EU to turn a blind eye to human rights violations, whoever commits them. In my last. The last time in this chamber, I spoke about the ethnic Hungarians in Ukraine having their rights violated. I received menacing emails from extremist Ukrainians calling me an enemy of Ukraine with a last warning. The European Parliament is a guardian of the freedom of speech. This menacing email I'm going to forward to the EPP president, and I ask you to condemn those who threaten members in an attempt to obstruct them in exercising their free mandate.”

- “Well, um, there's also the cloud as well. And American intelligence has accessed that because even if we have legislation on data protection, um, with cloud, all of the information can be, uh, taken over by the parent companies in the United States. We're talking about the data of European citizens that can be acquired. And Europe is not in a position to effectively protect them, despite all of the rules.”

- “It is of utmost importance that we protect children from all forms of sexual exploitation and abuse. Hence, it's our duty to support the directive we have before us. At the same time, of course, this directive does not cover certain aspects where there is sexual abuse. For example, in child marriage, which is closely linked to mass migration, the failure of integration processes and also the pushing of LGBTQ plus lobbies and its activities are endangering the healthy development of children. That hasn't been covered either. If children are recognised as being at risk from online sexual sexual Content. Why are they making it taboo? The fact that pride events are insulting and portraying gratuitous sexual content, seeking to influence children's gender activities in school and a kindergarten. Sensitization to sexuality. This is also a form of psychological abuse. The Hungarian legislation protecting children is being challenged, although it should be followed rather than punished.”

- “Thank you. To boost research and development is vital for competitiveness, but setting targets falls within the remit of the Member States. We need to have this centralised to avoid serious problems. Also, we see universities doing less well in the Bologna process. But when we had the Covid dictatorship, there was a witch hunt against those scientists that called into question the Diktats Uh, university. Freedom hasn't suffered. There is ideological pressure. And it's a real shame that we're talking about the digital transition, gender lessons and that, uh, we almost have, uh, quotas for Ukrainian academics. And then we also have, uh, excessive mobility for. Those, uh, for, for certain people. And I think that this might lead to a brain drain.”
Governance of academic priorities within the EU
- “Thank you very much, chairman. I agree with Mr. Tote's view that we need to step up Investigations into corruption because as I mentioned, we've seen convictions and and verdicts in Hungary on these issues, but it's still not enough because if we look at corruption, we have significant problems. And many people, many people in Hungary do get away with stealing EU money. However, I do believe that member States need to find a sovereign solution which not only protects EU financial interests but also member States taxpayers interests. Therefore, we need to have proper legal guarantees and we also need to have a. Prosecutor's combating corruption and we don't believe that the EPP EPP oh sorry is the right place to do that. The eppo's task is not to slow down. Investigations into fraud, as happened with the with the investigations into Covid 19 vaccine purchase agreements. This €71 billion were spent on 4 billion vaccines. We had billions thrown away. That's led to €4 billion worth of losses. And there was no there were no investigations carried into this or no communications published about this. This means that the EPPO really did nothing about this because of this has happened because of bias. Perhaps if these investigations were continued without any delay. That would perhaps dispel some of the fears people have about these investigations being biased, and that would have an impact on how people view the work of the EPPO. Thank you.”
Rule of law in Hungary
- “Thank you very much for giving me the floor. Now, one of the fundamental pillars of the European Union is free movement. And I believe it's absolutely crucial that this be maintained. However, in the last meeting or through the presentation, we have seen that the rules in each member state differ significantly. Now, obviously we have cultural traditions and customs, but where is the limit? Where is the limit to harmonisation of systems in the European Union? Because here it's not just about cultural differences. Fundamental questions come to mind, such as protecting the labour market. And another example in universities. Since the Bologna system was introduced across Europe, in Hungary, the quality of education in Hungary has deteriorated significantly. How can we find how can we strike a balance? And where is the limit to this harmonisation? And I'd also like to highlight another problem. I have a friend who's a lawyer who works in Austria And he has come in, come across a certain problem and customers have turned to him because they say they apply for jobs from Hungary, let's say a health care worker. But often they have been, um, being the disadvantaged when it comes to third country nationals compared to third country nationals. And so this needs this is a very important for the brain drain on the European market. How can we actually privilege European labour over labour from third countries?”
EU regulation of cross-border and posted workers
- “Thank you very much for these presentations. Simplification and effectiveness are some of the objectives of these programs. And the I was we heard cultural plurality or preservation of linguistic plurality. Those are things that we very much welcome. These are important when you think about traditional European culture and traditional European languages, however, I'm worried. I'm worried because behind this program, once again, what we're seeing is. An attempt by the European Commission to centralize. Centralizing these means of support that would give Brussels even further control of competences that should remain national. We know that allocation of funds follow ideological and political criteria, and that is going to continue in the future. However, we need initiatives. We don't want decisions to be forced From the EU, and I have migration and LGBTQ policies in mind. Whereas Christian initiatives are being pushed back on when calls for projects are sent out. What's more, civil society is being instrumentalized from a political standpoint. And. Ngos that are considered undesirable by the commission are treated poorly. And this gives us. Some types of disinformation that are identified as such by the Commission. Whereas in practice it's difficult to decide what is truth and what are lies. So it's a value judgement that takes place. Thus, the European Commission will consider some media to be undesirable and they will say there is a lack of resources. So it's not really a fight against disinformation? No, it's rather an attempt at censorship and an attack on the press's rights. What about the sovereignty of nations? How could we make it so that there are no discriminatory political measures? How can we make sure that civil society organizations are not instrumentalized? And how can we make it so that the freedom of media is not curtailed for political reasons?”

- “The defence industry is vital. Well, clearly it is vital that we invest in defence. And I don't dispute that. But what I do think is that if we are pouring so much money into investment in weapons, it is likely to be to the detriment of other areas of expenditure, and the culture is quite possibly going to be one of the first areas to suffer. That, to my way of seeing it, would be very worrying, and therefore I haven't heard any mention of how we are going to see the cultural budgets protected. It is a question of hearts and minds and culture. It's not just a question of weapons and the military. We think that this country which has invaded Ukraine is is going to invade Europe, too. And we seem to be responding by thinking that we just have to up the defense expenditure. And that is the solution. I don't know of any countries that spend so much on defense and intend to spend so much more. There's been so much. Thank you very much. You have five minutes now, Commissioner, to respond to these questions, and then we will move on to catch the eye.”
Defence spending
- “Thank you very much. It is very right that Google has received this gigantic. Fine. But there is a lower, um, freedom of speech because there is censorship on the part of, uh, the social media platforms. There has Orwellian platforms to decide which are the opinions that we can listen to and which are the ones that we can't. The EU is not able to defend its citizens in Hungary. Laszlo Toroczkai, the leader of the third strongest party in Hungary, has been banned from several online platforms because of his political views. This is not an isolated case. Many other right wing politicians around the world have suffered a similar fate. But the commission only voices its concern when the interests of its globalist supporters are harmed. In doing so, the EU leadership is becoming Big Tech's accomplice in hacking elections. We have known for a long time that Big Brother is watching us. The question is, whose interests do you represent? Thank you.”

- “And thank you for giving me the floor on disinformation. Disinformation. How does one decide what disinformation actually is? My view is that if we have impartial journalism. If we have partial journalism, that is a kind of disinformation. You know, when we have scientific studies, you can fact check. But I suppose even there, there could be corruption and that can't be denied. Even he we in Parliament cannot deal with the potential manipulation on the subject of fact checking. You know, couldn't fact checking be a tool used to limit the freedom of the press? I can imagine a committee being established. Um, which validates and rubber stamps. But couldn't that committee actually be politically biased? Thank you.”
