The Delegation of the European Union to Canada and the Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) have selected three winners for the 2026 edition of the EU-Canada Young Journalist Fellowship. Sandrine Vieira, Maria Collins, and Marlo Glass, all from Ottawa, Ontario, were recognized for their articles on topics ranging from Canada joining the European Union to digital trade and social media regulation. The laureates will participate in a week-long study tour of EU institutions in Brussels in November 2026, with expenses covered by the EU Delegation. They also receive a one-year CAJ membership. The jury included CAJ representative Hugo Rodrigues, journalists Leslie MacKinnon and Manon Cornellier, professor Patrick Leblond, and EU Delegation Press Officer Diodora Bucur. The fellowship aims to support young Canadian journalists' career development and foster EU-Canada ties. The next edition will launch in early March 2027.
