Parliament adopted its position on cabotage rules for international coach and bus passenger services in the border regions between Austria and Switzerland by 654 votes to 4 , with 1 abstention. Every political group backed the text: the EPP, S&D, Renew, Greens/EFA, The Left, ECR, PfE and ESN all voted in favour, with the only dissenting votes coming from among the non-attached Members (NI). The file concerns the Commission proposal and accompanying amendments governing how coach and bus operators may carry passengers on cabotage routes across the Austrian-Swiss frontier, an issue affecting cross-border transport in these regions. As a resolution, it carries no legal effect on its own, but it records Parliament's formal political position on the matter. The breadth of support left little room for a political cleavage: the four votes against and the single abstention all fell within the NI group, while the rest of the chamber lined up behind the text without division.
