Kirsten Joppe, Head of the European Union Partnership Mission in the Republic of Moldova (EUPM Moldova), was received by President Maia Sandu on 29 July 2026 for a courtesy meeting following her appointment as Head of Mission on 25 April 2026. The meeting reaffirmed the excellent cooperation between EUPM Moldova and the Moldovan authorities, as well as the Mission's commitment to supporting Moldova's efforts to strengthen its resilience. Joppe presented ongoing activities aimed at enhancing crisis management capacities, addressing hybrid threats, and countering foreign information manipulation and interference, including in cybersecurity. The exchange underscored the importance of continued cooperation in addressing evolving security challenges, in line with the EU's broader support for Moldova. EUPM Moldova is a civilian, non-executive mission established under the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy, providing strategic advice and support to strengthen Moldova's security framework and align it with EU standards.
