- 2026-06-17 “(09:44:41 – 09:46:55): Thank you very much, chair, dear council, commissioner. Yet again, I have heard here today that we need more green solutions. You can't really listen to this anymore. This is exactly as we Poles remember very well when it used to be what it used to be like in the Soviet Union. They always said that if we have more of the same solutions, the situation would finally get better.
The EU, let me remind you, have implemented lots of green solutions. What results do we have? The industry is collapsing. We've got the most expensive electricity in the world. Even the pearls on the crown, which is the automobile industry in the EU, loses against the Chinese in our own backyard. And you're saying, let's have more of the same.
The agriculture is collapsing, and we have an agreement with Marcosur. We've got a more stringent climate policy, and we've got a new CAP with fewer funds for agriculture. Crime is growing. I heard from the leader of the left just a while ago that we are going to introduce a new solution which will make the migrants move to other places where they don't want to be outside the EU.
What is the migration pact about? It's about the same, but within the EU, we're going to be moving the migrants to the countries where they don't want to go because, otherwise, you know where they would go, the countries where the situation is best. This is hypocrisy. And I need to agree with EPP that Europe wants more security. This is true, but the problem is that we will not have more security without competitiveness if we do not improve our economy.
That is why we need to stop ETS, which is crazy and which has brought us to a situation where the participation of the European economy in the world economy is regularly falling. That is why we have to say once again, stop the ETS, and you'll see then our economy will start working. Thank you very much.”
Extension of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme · Energy (green transition)
- 2024-09-30 “E-001874/2024 Answer given by Mr Lenarčič on behalf of the European Commission Central and Eastern Europe have been affected by heavy rains and strong winds. As of 13 September 2024, Poland, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania pro-actively activated the rapid mapping of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service for flood delineation and damage assessment 1 . The Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) 2 works on a 24 hours/7 days basis to carry out its mandate that includes, among other tasks, monitoring of unfolding or potential disasters and their impacts. In this context, the ERCC daily monitors the forecast estimates for potential flooding across Europe, through the dedicated European Flood Awareness System (EFAS) 3 of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service. EFAS complements the national systems to raise awareness, retaining the supporting role that the Commission has in this field. From the onset, the ERCC was in contact with the national civil protection authorities of Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania and Slovakia to raise awareness about possible upcoming floods and offered support through the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) 4 . On 18 September 2024, Poland activated the Union Civil Protection Mechanism and requested support to strengthen its response to the floods. 1 https://emergency.copernicus.eu/mapping/node/157182 2 https://civil-protection-humanitarian-aid.ec.europa.eu/what/civil-protection/emergency-response-coordinationcentre-ercc_en 3 https://european-flood.emergency.copernicus.eu/en 4 https://civil-protection-humanitarian-aid.ec.europa.eu/what/civil-protection/eu-civil-protection-mechanism_en”

- “If it's so, if you think that the farmers will win, will gain from this agreement, why are they protesting? Are they stupid? You know better what they are doing than themselves, than they do themselves. And there is a logical mistake in your. Thinking. If they are to gain from this agreement, why the compensation package? So I'm really sorry, but I heard the same story here when Nordstrom was discussed. You said there would be no problem. Agriculture is about our security simply.”
Trade relations with Mercosur
- “Thank you very much, president. Security. Yes. Lovely. But first, we have to ensure that we've got domestic internal security, that we can actually have the rights and freedoms of our citizens respected. We saw the annulment of the elections in Romania because they chose the wrong person. And now we're seeing, um, additional comments made by miss von der Leyen. Now we should be looking at presumption of innocence, but it seems that's not the situation here. We've seen long term policies from Mr. Macron. Ironically, now we're seeing somebody banned from standing, despite the fact that she got the huge number of votes from European citizens. So it seems we're taking away the rights of European citizens to decide who they would like to elect, who they would like to represent them. Now we are seeing more and more propaganda. But we've also got a tyranny and oligarchy. Lucky. It doesn't seem to matter how often you say the words democracy and you say the word freedom instead, it seems the actions taken are always completely the opposite. People's rights are being taken away from them by unelected officials.”
EU Supervision of the Rule of Law
- “Thank you, Madam President. Commissioner. The debate on the ban of the sale of combustion cars in the EU is not just about the industry, it's about who Europe will exist for, only for the wealthy or for everyone. It's a debate about freedom of choice, and that ought to be very important to us indeed. And it's also a debate about the rational thinking around our decisions and our competitiveness. We are calling for a reversal of the ban of the biggest scam in the history of the EU, the Green Deal, a reversal of the ban on combustion cars. For years, the automotive industry has been a pillar of Europe's economy when it comes to employment or exports. It's 14 million jobs and it produces an enormous amount of added value. Furthermore, it is a it represents a trade surplus and doing away of all of this in the name of green ideology would be a catastrophe for our economic security, for our employment and the real possibilities of production in the EU. So what's the premise behind this ban? First, we were told that the ban on the sale of combustion cars should be a goal. Added taxes for people who were producing combustion cars. But just look at what's happened now with electric vehicles. The costs of these, the prices have gone up. This was supposed to be about making us greener and improving competitiveness. But look at the actual results. Just look at the Draghi report year on year. Our competitiveness rather than improving, has worsened. Exports of cars from the EU have dropped by 16%, while the import of cars from China has increased five fold.”
Road transport environmental policy
- “Thank you. Chair. Commissioner. What about Russia? Russia has never kept its promises, never kept to an agreement, and it never will. We need to speak to Russia with only language it can understand. With strength, with force. We need to confiscate all its assets immediately and spend those assets to fund the war so that Russia gets what's coming to it. But if you say that the US is dividing Europe, we need to ask the question does the US divide us or only use the divided and weak Europe that you are responsible for? You, over 20 years of your government have reduced the EU share of the global GDP by a half. You decrease our competitiveness. You paid to Russia, you introduce all those migrants instead of integration. You enforce an Orwellian policy. You destroyed innovativeness and business. You pursue censorship. And again, you want to waste EU citizens money for what's the most necessary abortion on demand EU. If it had been different, it would deter Russia and the US. It was supposed to be the world's greatest free trade zone and because of you. Instead it started measuring CO2, spreading leftist ideology, a penalizing conservative countries, all, regulating all. That's to be regulated. We need less regulation, more freedom to business, to people. We need more freedom of speech and less terror. Now you are pushing Europe to destroy its own agriculture. You made a laughing stock of the old continent, and now you want even more power because you say you know how to run things over 20 years. You showed that you do not know how to run things, and the US is only making use of the weakness that you cause. The Europe can be made great again, but not with you.”
EU-Russia relations (from March 2022)
- “Yes. Thank you very much, president. Listening to some of the comments that have been made here this morning, I sort of feel that people have are ignoring a fact. What is Iran? Those who are criticizing the United States. Obviously, there are values that we want to protect from here. Iran, mass killing of protesters since the bloody November, November, when we know that weapons were turned on protesters. And this is one of the largest massacres of demonstrators in. And then we know, of course, that the there was the young Iranian woman who was killed by the moral police, and lots of people protested. Then they were killed, 2000 killed, lots of people injured as well. And there were nearly 10,000 executions last year. A lot of people were accused of not believing God. People were arrested, executed, and there were even minors who were executed who didn't agree with the regime. And we know, of course, that also a few years ago, very many other people were executed and tortured using, um, electro shock. And then women who've been arrested and tortured, arrested by the moral police. Iran also finances Russia, drones, everything that's killing people in Ukraine. So I'm not going to shed tears for Iran. And I would urge you to do the same. Finally, the cost of energy. There's absolutely no justification today on the eve of Easter, to. Do something about ETFs. The only thing we should do is suspend it because it is, uh, we've got some of the most expensive energy, and between the time it was introduced up till now, energy has gone up 80%. So I think the only thing we should be saying.”
EU-Iran relations
- “Thank you very much. Madam president, Mr. Commissioner, we've been seeing the same people here for years. You manage a continent with the most wonderful culture, economy, development of the world and the best democratic traditions and you've ruined it all. The demographic growth was the first victim because you were promoting the so-called reproductive rights. You were saying the children are responsible for CO2 emissions, so there are no children. Then we had to invite migrants. They resulted in costs and problems. Illegal migrants work less, they commit more crimes and they despise our culture. You feed them, you dress them, and then you are against those who want to defend citizens against this invasion. How could madam von der Leyen say that you represent democratic forces. You were to be the example for the world and you end up denying election results if you do not like what people voted for. You condemned Poland for the so-called pushbacks on its eastern border. And now Germans are doing exactly the same within the Schengen zone on the Polish border, and nothing is being said about it. So instead of building solidarity, we build division. We speak about cultures that are better at cultures that are not quite as good. And if you want to be the best student in class, in the so-called green mindedness, we end up being the suckers of the world. So we are responsible for less and less of the global GDP. And you want to be even more ambitious in your climate goal. This is absolutely crazy. The absurd theories about 256 genders are what you focus on, And now you want to condition payments from the EU budget on the fulfillment of these crazy ideas. How are you to defend Europe, defend Europe if you do not believe in its wisdom, in its beauty, in its innovation? You made illegal migrants, rainbow flags, the symbol of Europe. And of course, not to forget the plastic cups and bottles that are not to be removed. Thank you very much.”
Asylum & border control
- “Thank you very much, president. Well, I heard here that the way to solve European problems was to regulate more instead of deregulating. That's what the Greens told us. The last time we had this implemented was when Brezhnev came to Poland in Communist times. That's your ideas. Why is Europe weak? The key word here is competition. There is no development without competition. Draghi report electricities to three times more expensive than in the US. Gas up to five times more expensive. Energy intensive industrial production is falling in Europe. Why? Because our energy is cheaper. Well, the key word is competition. You have destroyed competition in favor of the Green Deal. If Europe were so great with cheap energy, we would have won on a free market. It's the same thing as with freedom of speech. There is no freedom of speech without a free market of ideas. You don't want a criticism of the Green Deal, the you want to shut down everything. You want it to make digital platforms exclude inconvenient to you Contents. This is your idea about competition, so there is no free market if you want to ban competition whenever, wherever you can. So no competition on the energy market. The effect energy is up to three times more expensive. No competition on the market of ideas. The effect millions of Europeans are excluded. Millions do not identify with the EU. Abuse of power, cancellation of elections. You have reached the impossible in Poland, the most euro enthusiastic country in this country. The number of Eurosceptics has grown up to five times. People want a regular normal market with cheap energy. Your idea is that the world is going to burn well. If you have good arguments, you will win in the discussion on a free market of ideas. So what we need is true freedom, as it was at the beginning when the EU was the strongest. Freedom, a more freedom. Thank you.”
EU approach to electricity market and prices
- “Thank you. Everything that surrounds us, furniture, cars and these modern office buildings and panels is made of steel. And obviously, in order to make steel, you need coax. And that's a strategic raw material resource. And without that, there won't be any development or future of the European Union. The largest producer of, uh, Cokes. Cokes, Coke in, um, uh, the European Union is Poland. Uh, and, uh, as a result of your gene policies and, uh, green deals, now we have to import this raw material from outside the European Union, and there's no kind of, um, um. Cost for that. So we've seen that, uh, customs duties are not being imposed on these. So we've seen these products, these products which exist in Poland. And how are they going to be able to compete with exactly the same products coming from Africa, which don't have to pay any kind of levies? And the same for soda sodium. Uh, you decided to close one of the largest factories in Poland, and hundreds of people lost their jobs out in the streets, and we can't keep up with the cost of the Green Deal. And we've seen that this product is now this raw material is now being imported from Turkey and China. So as I said, imported from China, which increases the CO2 emissions. So we've got coke and sodium coming into the European Union. And we have to reverse this trend to support our jobs.”
Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)
- “Somehow the previous conflict situations were not caused by Donald Trump, and the results went in the same direction. Why did they go in the same direction? Because you have introduced the ideologically based tax imposed on the cheapest energy source in Poland. The energy produced from coal is six times cheaper than the renewables, and it is not so that we do not want any investment in renewables. But this has to be done in a very wise manner, reliable manner, not in the way you are doing, because it is because of you, of your activities that the prices are 100% higher.”
Fossil fuels
- “Furthermore, we are selling ever fewer European cars in China. But Chinese cars now make up 15% of the European car market share. Under the Green Deal in the EU, it's 14 times more expensive to build an electric vehicle in the EU than in China. Is this really where we were supposed to go with green policy? Bear in mind too. That the Chinese are leading across several different value chains in the European automotive market. And when you compare the EU and the Chinese markets. We see that the Chinese have been more effective in their strategies. Turning now to the US, they don't have anything like the ETS system and they're doing much better than us. Then there's the matter of the climate targets supposedly underpinning this. And these objectives are really good for nothing. Co2 emissions are growing year on year. There is a massive problem with the issue of charging points for electric vehicles. Why aren't we talking about where the electricity comes from to charge electric vehicles? Well, quite often these are these charging points are coal powered. But we don't see this anywhere in your documents. And even if this is renewable energy, we must make sure that this comes from a secure supply like carbon, to avoid blackouts like what we saw in Spain. There was a regulation that was set to be worked on in case of the failure of electric vehicles. We saw something similar in California during the heat wave where there simply wasn't any kind of electricity available. So who is this system really for?”
Climate efforts
- “Thank you, Madam Chair. Madam Commissioner. Now, we have been talking about 100 days in a competitiveness and migration. While this title could sound ironic, but it's actually very serious. So what have you delivered on? Firstly, the defence fund is supposed to consist of three pillars. Firstly, moving funds from the cohesion policy. No one will agree to that. Secondly, encourage countries to increase spending on defence. So in order to get this fund, all the countries have to agree. The Netherlands did not agree yesterday. And thirdly, another joint debt for all EU countries have to agree on that. And so what you've done so far is a PowerPoint presentation. Congratulations. Now we need a common agriculture to have common defence. And the history shows us how these countries end up who don't have their own food. And now you boast yourself in having the Mercosur agreement. This will destroy Polish and the European agriculture. Now another thing. Now I would recommend all of you to see what is happening on the Polish-German border. Now these migrants are taken back to their parking spaces next to Polish supermarkets. You can go and see that yourselves. And then the Schengen Area. Well, the migration pact that is supposed to enter into force. And there will be another migration wave and you will deliver, but you will be delivering migrants to migration hubs.”
Asylum & border control
- “Mr. president. Commissioner. Well, yes. Um, Spain end up without electricity, and now you're saying. Oh, well, now we have to take a look at this, um, analyze, etc.. It's quite funny because, uh, they're doing everything not to acknowledge things that they knew. Uh, and in, in this case, we know what's at fault. Green policy. Um, so in, in in the 1st of April in Spain, you said, well, well, the left wing government said that for the first time, um, all the electricity from renewable energies, and then all of a sudden the country had no energy at at all. Um, so there was two great use of renewable energies, uh, and uh, for other reasons as well. There was a lack of synergy. There was a kind of inertness in the system. And you're trying to. Mislead the laws of physics, not use them properly. And our companies in our country and in the European Union are losing out on competitiveness. And during the course of this blackout, well, that was in Spain and then in eastern Central Europe. Then there are problems. You talk about Putin and gas stream and then, Commissioner, you're saying that we have to take money from European taxes, the European taxpayers money to alleviate some of these effects. So first of all, you get people you want people to play these green taxes. So pay out of their own pocket and then they have to pay even more when the whole system doesn't work. It's totally absurd. It's a green madness.”
Energy (green transition)
- “Thank you very much, president. Uh, what is the the state of the EU? You seem to be thinking you can cover a reality with empty words. Let's compare some data. When you took your post and today we had peace on our borders. Today, not only do we have a war, we have Russian drones falling all over Poland. Now you want a cheap energy and you believe so deeply in a reset with Russia. Now the prices of energy have doubled over your term of office. Uh, standard of living is falling and European debt is growing. What about prices of new cars? They have grown by 30%. Our industry is but a shadow of its former glory. Now you have very ambitious, uh, climate objectives. In Europe. We see more violence, especially sexual violence in, uh, in a report, uh, from the parliament, you have admitted that gang violence is growing in Europe due to, uh, competition between, uh, criminal gangs. In the past, we were almost equal in terms of GDP with the US. Now it's only 60%. How can you be proud of anything? Cordon sanitaire. Such a terms have been developed here and now in Europe. If a wrong candidate wins an election, such election is declared null and void. You curtail freedom of speech, freedom of the internet, and in terms, instead of going into economic integration, you choose to go for political integration, more centralisation. So all of these things that have led us to this dire place and position that we are in, but that is not the most serious problem. What is most serious is that Europe has lost its sense of purpose. This city, uh, 2000 years of history. So what what what do we see here? The Holy Mary Cathedral. This is this the symbol of synthesis between mind and faith. We need this back. Goethe used to write about this. Uh, these forms, this music that leads us to God. I'm talking about God. You are a generation of decadence. Why are you self-confident, so pleased with yourselves? You are pushing us towards the abyss. Which is why you have to leave”
EU political integration
- “Thank you very much. President. President of Cyprus. Commissioner. And dear colleagues, I'd like to congratulate the president for the very interesting and ambitious program. And I'm particularly happy on what you said about migration, because we really do need a returns directive. And I'm also happy about the hard line against Russia and the work that you want to do to promote the enlargement of the European Union. And I'm equally satisfied about trying what you said about solving issues of sovereignty and the statement you made. The comments on industry, I think, were excellent because industry is so important for us building up competitiveness. The tackle against overregulation. This is all excellent and you can count on our help and support. But what is equally important is that we not be too naive because there are certain things that don't tally, for example, competitiveness, building up industry, strengthening our industry, improving the cost of living for Europeans do not go hand in hand with a Green Deal, because that makes the European Union weak. It's not able to stand up for itself. For example, Greenland and we're not at the main table negotiating table. So. And then of course there's the new budget. We shouldn't be pushed into accepting cuts in costs for farming or cohesion policy. And we should not forget the most important problems. As I said, we are going to support you in all your fights. Cyprus is a very important with an excellent history and we're crossing our fingers for you.”
Climate efforts
- “Thank you very much. President. Commissioner. All of what you are saying about Mercosur reminds me of the situation with Nord Stream. We have been saying for years that you cannot, um, give up on diversification of gas supply because it will end in tragedy. And what are you going to do today? You want to destroy the European agriculture because you want to sell more cars. Uh, the problem is that agriculture is not just a food. It's also the question of our security. If that is such a good deal, why do you need compensation? You think that we can always import food to Europe from afar? The same thing happened with gas. And what can you say now about what happened with importing gas? Or maybe we all want to eat, uh, insects. But maybe not all of us farmers deserve our gratitude. Because. Because of them, we have the best food in the world, and we should not destroy it.”
Trade relations with Mercosur
- “Thank you very much. Well, we heard that we have to fight for the environment. President, I'd like to inform you. That CO2 emissions don't respect the Schengen area's borders. So we have to be able to reduce CO2 emissions worldwide and worldwide. These emissions are growing. So what is the sense of this? You say that ETS has shown its usefulness. That's not true. Our energy is among the most expensive in the world. The ETS should not won't save the planet, but it should be. It's only designed to save consultants and Chinese industry. We have to abandon this before Europe becomes a completely. A continent that's completely lagging behind the rest of the world. We've got double the prices of energy. This is huge for industry. And if you say we have to defend this system, well, I don't know what needs to happen for you to understand the consequences of this destruction of Europe. You have to stop this. You are dangerous for Europe.”
Extension of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme
- “Thank you. Chair. Um, chair. Minister. Europe is falling down. Industry, AI, space, internet. We lost everything. Security, migrants again. War at our borders. Everything. Which was fine in Europe. You destroyed it. What's worse, you even funny because even the letter calling the summit. Let me quote. First of all, we have to intensify our efforts to go away from overregulation. Yes, it's true, but it's overregulated by Green Deal. Then you write that we must have climatic climate purposes now to reduce Green Deal. We have to have more Green Deal. It's to say that we have to defend liberty in Europe. Therefore, we shall forbid the sale of combustion engines, chair said. Competitiveness. You are the most important. Let me remind you that the European Commission, 95, said that until 2010, the European Union will over will be better than the US as far as GDP. The world Bank report from April this year said something since you introduced ETS 2008, GDP in the European Union grew by 13.5% and in the US by 90%. You said the green energy is the cheapest. However, when we add ETS, the stabilization costs, the investments, the energy is the most expensive. The president says that there is a growing market for green energy. Yes, it grows, but it grows more for the traditional industry and it grows faster than the GDP of the EU, and the market is much larger. You said also that the CO2 emission. And the emission of CO2 in the world is growing and Europeans, instead of being the first in emitting CO2, want to have cheap energy. You destroy the future of Europe because of high energy prices, since once you are the president, energy prices grew by 30% in Europe. Opportunities for flats for new young people were destroyed. And you will destroy agriculture by Mercosur agreement. And you will destroy human health because you will import products from Brazil with 367 pesticides forbidden in the EU. This is why it's time for radical change.”
- “Madam president, I just heard that the most important point is to have cheap energy, less red tape, a safe and secure Europe and innovation. Yes, this is what we had in 2008. And what happened? You came into power with your program. Let us cast our minds back in 2008. The EU's GDP was. What it was, and now it's 65% of the US GDP. So tell us what happened. You say that you want cheap energy. But now, because of the ETS, we have high energy prices. Look at the data. Ever since the ETAs kicked in, we. The price was 15 cent per tonne and now it's 65. So a huge increase. We have a 100% increase in energy prices. And the same applies to energy for households. So you say you want cheap energy, but energy is becoming more and more expensive. You say you want competitiveness, but we have de-growth. We have a lower competitiveness. You want economic growth, but that's not taking off either. Your reasoning is the following. To my mind, it's it is those who caused the problems that have to solve the problems. We have to change course and we have to do so radically. Madam president, you say that we have to tap into AI, but what we have is exceptional deregulation. We've got the deregulation across the world. And when it comes to industry, you say that you want to rebuild industry through the Green Deal. But this is ridiculous. It is green deal that is going to sound the death knell of our industry. Production has gone down. Manufacturing has gone down and the situation is just worsening. We have spiraling costs much higher than in Europe and in China and in Europe. We are losing 500 jobs a day, especially in the industrial sector. I am firmly convinced that if we want to make changes, we've got to change course. Everything that you've done up to now is leading us to a result that is completely different to what you're putting forward. Thank you.”
Energy (green transition)
- “Thank you very much, madam President. Europe today has a choice ahead of itself. Naught three three or lose face again. Do business quickly or finally think in a long term and strategic way. I remember when in this very room, we warned you against Nord Stream one and Nord Stream two, which did give you immediate benefits. That is cheap gas, but from a strategic perspective, it deprived the continent of our own energy sources, which meant we would pay more for this. And this is exactly what happened. Europe is was weaker without its own energy sources, and Russia attacked because of this. We continue paying for that till now, and we will now be paying 90 billion more, and there is no end of it. And now you want us to get rid of our own food. A continent without farming will be condemned to another attack, will be doomed in the Rome Treaties. And the founding fathers of the EU always spoke about self sufficiency. I don't know why you are downplaying that requirement and forget about it. I don't think that in this room there are those who are against, um, the free trade agreement, but there are those who criticize unfair competition and who pretend they don't see what's going on here. You have imposed, um, Green Deal on, um, European farmers. Um, Mercosur countries do not have those requirements placed on them. How should they compete in a fair way. It is as if one person participating in a race had their hands and feet tied. Brazil uses pesticides, herbicides which are forbidden in the EU due to their high toxicity, fungicides and other substances that are not allowed in the EU because of the risk for the health of women and children, the EU for decades now has forbidden the use of growth hormones in animal production and animal breeding, as well as antibiotics.”
Trade relations with Mercosur
- “Mercosur countries do not observe those standards, so you want to have a hell for European consumers just because you want to sell products fast, as it's great to have a super car. But in order to use it, first of all, you have to be a healthy stomach, not full of poison. You're also lying about safeguard clauses. There is no way for you to monitor and to check. Production processes in Mercosur countries. If you send all your EU officials to South America. You wouldn't even be able to check 1% of what they produce there. And you only have unilateral. Safeguard clauses. Today, Mercosur countries said they would not apply them. Why do you continue lying to our farmers? I have a document from the Brazilian government, which means that there is going to be a recognition of Brazilian inspection for Brazilian meat and food. Why are you lying about this? This agreement is going to support support Putin in 2020. We decided not to import Russian fertilizers. They went to Brazil straight ahead and now they're going to be exported to the EU. It's not a contract about free trade. It's an unequal trade. You want to destroy agriculture in order to build other sectors. It is as if you had two children and beat one up and gave lots of gifts to the other one. Does anyone want to participate in such a project and call it a community? Great projects do not fail when you lose wars, but when you betray your societies. That's why you have to leave. Thank you.”
Trade relations with Mercosur
- “President, Commissioner. Nothing has made me laugh so hard as this quarrel between EPP and socialists at plenary today. So. And they discussed the issue of who is cooperating with the right wing. Uh, EPP is supposedly working together with the right wing or not. It just shows us very clearly that the so-called sanitary cordon does not really work. And it doesn't make a point. It doesn't make sense. You are just all alike. One just like the others. And we are the only true alternative. We are not looking at who supports whom. We only look at the validity of solutions, good or bad. And this is how politicians should act. Now, as for the Middle East, Mrs. von der Leyen has just said that the most important solution that she proposes is to enhance the EU coordination and more renewables. I noted it down and I would like to respond to that by saying that ever since Mrs. von der Leyen has been in chair, she's been doing nothing else but coordinating and increasing the the use of renewables. And what are the results? Well, the prices of energy in the European Union have increased by over by about 100%, car prices by 30%. Our our share in industrial activity is is going down. And our political and economic power is declining. And you want to do more of the same. In spite of the results it gave, it gives. And this road leads to nowhere, because so far the renewable sources of energy are more expensive than the traditional ones. And we do have traditional sources of energy that we could make use of, and they would be less expensive. And we should really get rid of the emission trading system because in spite instead of introducing a new one. So stop to the emission trading and stop to the Green Deal. And this will lead to a better life for all Europeans. Thank you.”

- “And so we will be spending more not on external protection, but on internal protection against the foreigners in our countries. And finally, this delivering in terms of competitiveness. Yes, there is competitiveness compass that you've presented. You want to have less reporting for businesses. So you are abolishing this very rule that you were so proud of at the end of the previous mandate. So you've been basically fighting yourselves. Congratulations again. If you want to be serious about competitiveness and strong economy, if you want to be serious about increasing your defence spending, you have to get rid of Ets1 and Ets2 and the whole craziness about the Green Deal. We have to repeat all the time that the European Union is responsible for 47% of global emissions. So in order for this fight to make sense, all the countries would have to do that. Co2 emissions has have been increasing globally. So we are doing something that doesn't make sense because you put additional burdens on European businesses and citizens. You put an additional tax on them. And this limits our defense abilities. This is something that we have to get rid of. Thank you.”
Extension of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme
- “Thank you, Madam President. Commissioner. Well, you were telling us that the biggest threat to Europe is the Make Europe Great Again movement. And you say that it will actually destroy Europe, but. Well, let's talk about who really destroyed Europe. Let's talk about facts, because you are great. When it comes to demagogy. You have been governing here for years. Ten years ago. Ten out of 40 biggest companies listed on stock exchange were in the EU. Now only two of them in 2010. The EU's economy was 90% of Ustr's economy. Now it's 50%. Why? Because you started with your ETS system and you started the destruction of our industry and competitiveness. The newest startups with more than $1 billion. These are mainly Chinese now. Before it was different. Even though the US has 330 million citizens, we have 450. They work is more effective, more efficient. We could hear that yesterday when JD Vance was speaking in Paris. He was speaking about artificial intelligence as the chance opportunity. While here we heard it's only a threat. Us is leaving Paris Agreement. We hear that we need more of it and hence we support China. Who produces photovoltaic solar panels. The US is coming back to the traditional sources of energy. While you suggest new taxes such as ETS two and destroy our economy, even our diamonds such as our car industry and chemical industry. The enterprises are talking to you, trying to convince you to do otherwise, but you are totally deaf to this. We cannot develop. We are now consuming what previous generations created. Let's put an end to this. Our European companies cannot be stifled by taxes. We need to help them. This is our task.”
Climate efforts
- “I think you should learn your lessons. Uh, and see that in in EU, for example, you have huge amounts of coal, which would be sufficient to have six times cheaper energy. The same if we create nuclear energies, that would have the same result. Unfortunately. What have you done in the past ten years? You created in many countries the energy mix with renewables. What's the consequence? Their economies are hardly able to survive and that's the effect of your ideas.”
